It is a formidable challenge to meet the requirements amid dwindling resources on the one hand and mounting impacts of climate change on the other. The United Arab Emirates (U.A.E.) continue to experience rapid developments thats evidenced in its many new major industrial, commercial, construction, and agricultural projects. This growth has resulted in a huge demand for water across all Emirates, where surface water resources are nearly non existent. The ageing infrastructure, ever expanding cityscapes, competing needs both for water and energy pose enormous challenges on the utilities and planners.
