A geek at heart and a creative mind nonetheless. Tiberiu has 9 years of experience working in market research, PR, data analytics, educational technology and entrepreneurship for companies such as Ipsos and BBDO in Romania, BIME Analytics (part of Zendesk) in France and US or the AstroLabs Google Tech Hub in the MENA region.

He has led European and global projects such as the creation of the online communication channel for 9 countries in the Ipsos market research network, the development of the Tech School educational program for the telecom company UPC (part of Liberty Global), the contribution to the organization of Microsoft’s global hackahton that beat a world record of attendance in 2013 or the worldwide launch of the BIME Analytics’ 6th version cloud-based software in 2014.

One of his most important achievements is the Tech School project due to the fact that in just 2 years (2011-2013), it became the only educational program in Europe supported by mentors from all three major space agencies in the world (NASA, ESA and JAXA). It gathered more than 1 million visitors on the online platform dedicated to young innovators in Romania and it offered more than 100.000 $ in funding for inventions put forward by them. Last but not least, the program received the European Excellence Award in 2012, surpassing educational projects from CERN or Rolls Royce and LEGO.

He continued his passion in tech by spearheading the PR and marketing initiatives of BIME Analytics, the French tech company that was acquired in 2015 by Zendesk for 45 million $. He coordinated the company’s PR agency in San Francisco and collaborated with publications such as GigaOm or Wired for developing the B2B audience’s understanding of cloud-based data analytics and Big Data solutions.

After moving to Shanghai, China and consulting edtech startups on brand and marketing strategy, he came to Dubai where he took the role of Community Manager at AstroLabs, the Google Tech Hub for tech startups in the MENA region. He was part of the team that officially launched the hub in October 2015 at the opening event where personalities from the UAE government, the Google MENA office and the global Google for Entrepreneurs program praised the hub for its mission and accomplishments. At AstroLabs, he helped and collaborated with more than 150 tech startups from e-commerce to F&B to education and up to wearables and IoT.

He is currently the founder of The Improbable Agency - what he calls an brand & PR agency for challengers and underdogs. From his role as CPO (Chief Probability Observer), Tiberiu is directly involved in helping startups from Dubai, New York or Shanghai in identifying the dynamic trends of communication for their main audiences in order to increase the probability of companies engaging in a sustainable way with them.
